My internship has provided a unique opportunity to better myself and hone my IT skills.
I began my internship with Stronghold Engineering Inc in March 2023, with the program set to conclude in June. Thus far, my experience has been enriching, which I attribute to the guidance and support from my supervisor and IT manager in the department. Throughout my training, I was able to apply theoretical concepts learned in the classroom, as well as observe how to conduct oneself as an IT professional. A significant aspect that I grasped from my mentorship is that troubleshooting is an art and an indispensable skill in the IT industry. The ability to adeptly troubleshoot aids in the quick identification of issues, resulting in valuable savings in both time and resources.
During my internship, I shadowed my supervisor and assisted in assignments involving troubleshooting employees' workstations, as well as the construction of new workstations, maintenance of the conference room, and the setup of users with new computers. My supervisor also emphasized the importance of meticulous attention to detail and error-checking, which has ingrained in me an appreciation for double-checking my work. Additionally, the feedback and advice offered by my supervisor have been invaluable and instrumental in my growth and development in the program.
A significant aspect that I grasped from my mentorship is that troubleshooting is an art and an indispensable skill in the IT industry.
In summary, my internship has provided a unique opportunity to better myself and hone my IT skills. In particular, the experience has highlighted areas of improvement, such as communication, while providing a foundation for future endeavors in the industry.
